BBC cameras were present at the fireballs ceremony as Stonehaven excised the spirits of 2019, so we can all look forward to a fresh start for the New Year.

If you blinked, however, you might have missed them on the TV.  The fireballs had been up and down the High Street and were being thrown into the sea before the coverage made it to Amy Irons the North-East.   The bands Travis' "why does it always rain on me" and Twin Atlantic "barcelona" won the battle for screen time, and might have been host Susan Calman's cup of tea.  But we had hoped for more than a glimpse of the fireballs, and it wasn't to be.

Never mind. You can follow the fireballs here: http://stonehavenfireballs.co.uk/
